Washington, DC, February 28, 2013 — The National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity (NCPPA), is proud to announce Scott Goudeseune as the new President of NCPPA’s Board of Directors. Also new in 2013 is NCPPA’s collaboration with Venn Strategies, LLC, which will be managing the coalition and handling NCPPA’s government affairs.
Scott Goudeseune’s term began January 31st, succeeding Past-President Laurie Whitsel, Director of Policy Research at American Heart Association. Goudeseune is the CEO and President of the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the largest nonprofit fitness certification provider in the world. Given ACE’s dedication to promoting the benefits of physical activity and commitment to strong collaboration among leaders in corporations, the fitness industry, government, and allied health and education providers, Goudeseune is a natural fit to succeed Dr. Whitsel’s respected tenure leading the NCPPA Board.

Providing a solid management foundation, government relations expertise, and supporting resources, Venn Strategies will work with Goudeseune and other Board members to execute NCPPA’s mission to unite the strengths of public, private, and industry efforts into collaborative partnerships advocate for policies and initiatives that encourage all Americans to become more physically active.
